Meet Our Licensed Physiotherapists
Merril (Mireille) Abdelsayed
B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D. PT
Merril (Mireille) is an internationally licensed physiotherapist who graduated from Cairo University and has been granted the Master’s Degree (M.Sc) and the Doctoral Degree (Ph.D) in Physiotherapy (2013). She has successfully passed the Canadian Physiotherapy Competency Examination and has been granted the Independent Physiotherapy Practice Certificate in Ontario, Canada (2018). Merril is a registered physiotherapist with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO). Also, she is a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA) and Ontario Physiotherapy Association (OPA).
Merril has extensive experience in Orthopedics Physiotherapy and is certified in Mulligan Manual Therapy Specialization, Acupuncture, Dry Needling (Kineticore), Concussion Management, and TMJ (Jaw pain/dysfunction) Physiotherapy Management. Also, she is focusing on applying a wide variety of “hands-on” physiotherapy approaches and client-centered care.
Merril has Canadian Postgraduate Training Certificates in Pelvic Health to evaluate pelvic floor muscles aiming to manage stress incontinence, pelvic pain, and much more in this field. Also, she is a professional provider of shockwave therapy, electrotherapy, cupping therapy, therapeutic taping technique, manual exercise therapy and rehabilitation protocols.
Outside work, Merril loves walking, reading and enjoys hanging out with her family and her adorable dog.
Usama (Sam) Ragheb
B.Sc. PT, M.Sc. PT, Ph.D. PT
Usama (Sam) is an internationally licensed physiotherapist. Sam graduated from Cairo University with a Doctoral degree (Ph.D) in Physiotherapy in 2006 after completing and being granted the Master’s degree (M.Sc) and the Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc) in Physiotherapy. Also, in 2010 he completed and granted the Professional Post-graduate Diploma in Total Quality Management (TQM) and Quality Management Systems from The American University in Cairo (AUC). Before his immigration to Canada with his family, Sam was the founder and clinic director of his own two physiotherapy and rehabilitation centres in Egypt. In addition to his extensive clinical experience and practice in physiotherapy for over 25 years, Sam was a university senior lecturer for over 13 years as he used to teach many physiotherapy courses/classes for the university-level physiotherapy students.
After settling in Canada, Sam accomplished the requirements and has been granted the acceptance of the official application for the Canadian equivalence in Physiotherapy from McGill University and the OPPQ, Quebec, Canada. Also, he has been granted the Independent Physiotherapy Practice Certificate in Ontario, Canada in 2018. Sam is a licensed and an active registered Physiotherapist with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario “CPO” (Canada), and The General Physical Therapy Syndicate of Egypt “GPTS” (Egypt). Also, he is a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association “CPA” and Ontario Physiotherapy Association “OPA” (Canada).
To assure the top quality of physiotherapy care for his patients, Sam completed many postgraduate clinical courses in “Acupuncture and Dry Needling”. Since 2019, he has taken a keen interest in Manual Therapy Specialization by taking postgraduate clinical education regarding “Mulligan Concept”. Sam has a special interest in a wide variety of hands-on physiotherapy techniques to manage neck, back, joints pain/disorders and sport-related injuries. Also, he is a professional provider of shockwave therapy, electrotherapy, cupping therapy, therapeutic taping technique, manual exercise therapy and rehabilitation protocols.
Outside of work, Sam enjoys spending time with his family and has always had an interest in sports, particularly soccer and table tennis (ping-pong). Sam’s other passion is reading, traveling and visiting new places. He also keeps active with walking, running and soccer.
